Kevin J. Kennedy joined the Warrior4Wireless non-profit team as an advisor in mid-February of 2017 then assumed duties as President and CEO in early May. Kevin is helping shape the W4W organization for strategic growth in order to create an order of magnitude increase in the volume of veterans recruited-trained and placed in the rapidly expanding telecommunication market.
Kevin served for six years at Textron Systems with 3 of the 6 years as the Vice President for International Business at Textron Systems, a division of Textron, Incorporated a multi-industry company that leverages its global network of aircraft, defense, industrial and finance businesses to provide customers with innovative system solutions and services. In this duty he worked with all Textron businesses to address the needs of key customers in the United States and overseas.
Before retiring, Major General Kennedy served a yearlong tour as the senior in country Air Force strategist and advisor to the Commander of U.S. Forces in Afghanistan. Kevin also commanded the U.S. Air Force Global Cyberspace Integration Center where he set the course for the standup of a U.S. Air Force cyber component as well as the modernization plan for Air Force Operation Centers and tactical edge data-link connectivity. Kevin served as the Deputy Director of U.S. Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance at Headquarters Air Force as well as the Director of Joint Strategic Planning at U.S. Strategic Command. Kevin has helped assemble and work global joint requirements at U.S. Joint Forces Command and global air operations plans when running the Headquarters Air Force’s lead strategy division, “Checkmate.” Kevin served as a wartime commander leading air wings in air warfare over Iraq and Afghanistan. He accumulated over 3,600 hours of operational flying in his 32 years of service, to include 145 hours of combat flight. He has extensive operational and technical experience in joint Unmanned Aerial Vehicle systems as well as the national command and control capabilities leveraged to employ them and disseminate their collection products to edge users.
Kevin is a: 1978 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy; distinguished graduate earning a master’s degree in National Military Strategy from the Naval War College; master’s degree in Human Resources graduate from Central Michigan University; and a year-long National Security Fellow from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
